2006 News

Kira Vardanega, the 2006 College Dux, graduated with an OP1 and was awarded a Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship to study Law and Business at Queensland University of Technology. Only 50 of these scholarships are offered across Queensland each year. Kira is pictured with the College Principal, Mrs Margaret Lee receiving her award from Dr Peter Coaldrake, Vice-Chancellor of QUT.

Maria Rodrigo, who also graduated in 2006 received a QUT scholarship to study engineering.

Congratulations to Katie & Julie Connolly

Julie attended the College between 1987 and 1991. She then went to The University of Queensland where she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with First Class Honours and was Valedictorian of her graduating class. For some time now she has been tutoring and teaching at Melbourne and Deakin Universities as well as studying. This year she completed her PhD in Political Philosophy at Deakin University.

Katie was a student at San Sisto from 1990 to 1994. She completed an Arts Degree at The University of Queensland in 1999 and an Honours Degree First Class at Melbourne University in 2001. She then worked for a few years as a consultant for a company in Melbourne and Boston. At present she is at the Australian Embassy in Washington DC and over the Christmas period received the exciting news that she had been accepted at the JFK School of Government in Boston to study for a Master in Public Policy. She has also been awarded the Robert Gordon Menzies Scholarship for 2005/2006 which is valued at US$50000.
